Poetry 1.

Traveling (April, 2009)
Back from a trip of times now past
Where Spanish, CE, and friendships last.
The air was brisk, but souls still warm
From both laughter and seeking that is the norm.

Hellos here and there, with thoughts so profound
I could barely hear whispering- the present sweet sound
It brings me back home to where I belong
It’s here where God wants me; I know I’m not wrong.

Unthinkable to some, the great big change
That occurs to so many in this age range.
Time alters invariably as do views of the past
Which continue to meld as one travels on fast.

Memories now different; people grown apart,
Yet they still remain, somehow, close to my heart.

Choppy Anticipation (March 31, 2010)
In 2 more months, I jump off a cliff
Into the unknown to smell a big whiff
Of real life with ventures and sounds all the more
But will I hold fast to what’s at the core?

So much that’s out there
So little inside
What should I wear?
How do I hide?

My heart yearns for freedom, joy, purpose, and drive
But what happens in the meantime when I’m still very “live”?

How do I grow?
Am I stuck in a rut?
It’s true, “white as snow”
But next comes the “then what?”

I’m buried in questions
Stand still in the heat
I ask for foundations.
This world to defeat.

Tangled in status, position, and fame
None of it matters- all for Your name!
Clarity and love, passion & vision
I shall rest in Your grace & live on with a mission.
