Falling in love is like reading a book.
Maybe it’s the title, the binding, a
quotation you heard, the summary in the back, the recommendations, or the
picture on the front that caught your interest. Whatever it was, it had
you intrigued. You open the book (you meet the person). From
there, a whole new world opens up to you- new settings, new characters,
conflicts, themes, details, delights, fears, sadness, and joy. The
more you read (the more you come to know this person), the more you are drawn
in- drawn into this wonderful story.
As you immerse yourself deeper into
this story, you can't help but celebrate the amazing Author of it all. What
creativity! What beauty! What redemption! Look what He did right
there? You see how He made the impossible a reality? You see how He
positioned that character, right there, right then, to work that right
out?!
The story continues…your story
continues. These stories intertwine. That story impacts
your life. Not just your thoughts, not just your emotions. Your. life.
Gratitude swells up, love builds, a new story begins.
Sometimes though, there comes a
point when you must let this story go. The stories once brought
together take a turn apart. Pages may tear, the binding may bend, but the
Author who knows beginning & end holds those stories in His hands...for
we are His creation, we are His. He mends the broken, He restores what was
lost, He binds up, He heals, He gives grace, He covers sin with His mercy, He
guides & gives wisdom, He empowers, He leads, He provides...He does
this all because He LOVES His children & has set forth unimaginable
things for the empty pages yet to be filled. This is my God. This is HIS story.
Ah, God you are so
good. Thank You for your goodness so present in the lives of Your
children. It is a privilege to know those who walk with You and know
You better because of them. God, please prepare my story for my husband
and his for me- all in Your will, all in Your time, by Your grace, and in Your
way. May You write our stories so skillfully into one until the end
of our days, for Your glory and Your praise- our awesome, loving, faithful
Author, Finisher, & Friend.
