So really, it's not that deep and yet, it is. That's the point.
My senior year in college I studied a Mexican writer named Cristina Pacheco who wrote about the good, the bad, the everyday life of the "gente pobre" of Mexico. She wrote as it was. as it is. Her writing was sometimes startling, sometimes common, sometimes interesting...but very often rich and illuminating.
When we listen to the stories of a culture, of a time, of a people, of one person...we learn. Whether the stories are trivial, boring, fun, or extravagant renders of everyday happenings they all present us with something. and often that something is also profound.
My hope, I guess, is to add my voice to those stories, give a voice to those who don't have one, and discover; presenting others with my life and taking part in the much bigger story of humanity and of the Gospel of Christ.
